Paying for your trip
Flexible payment plan
Spread the cost of your Ghana internship or trip over time, with no interest and no extra fees.
Last updated: October 29, 2026
How it works
- Apply and get accepted. Apply for an internship or trip on our website, then have a short call with our team.
- Pay your $500 deposit to lock your spot. It counts toward your program total.
- Pay the rest on your own schedule. Pay any amount at any time until one month before you depart.
- Track every payment in the Changemaker Portal, alongside your checklist and deadlines.
An example
An 8-week Full Placement costs $6,095. If you start on June 6, 2027 and book in November 2026:
- November 2026: pay the $500 deposit to secure your spot.
- December to May: pay about $933 a month, or any other amounts that suit you.
- By May 6, 2027: your balance of $5,595 is paid, one month before you fly.
Your exact total depends on your program length. Each week after the second adds $550.
No extra fees
- No interest and no credit checks.
- No installment or late fees for paying in parts.
- Payments go through Zeffy, which charges nonprofits 0% platform fees. Zeffy may invite an optional tip at checkout; you can set it to $0.
Fundraise some or all of it
You don't have to pay everything out of pocket. Share your story with friends, family and your community, and raise money through the foundation's Zeffy page toward your program. Tell us about gifts made for your trip, and we'll count them toward your balance. Need help getting started? See how to fundraise your trip on our website.
