North Tongu District, Ghana – March 24, 2025 – In a groundbreaking initiative to enhance technology integration in classrooms, Bountiful STEM Educational Foundation and Bountiful Technologies Co. Ltd, in collaboration with Goethe-Institut, Dreamers Wish Foundation, and the Ghana Education Service (GES) – North Tongu District, will host a three-day ICT Training Workshop for teachers from March 26th to March 28th, 2025. This professional development program will equip educators from seven schools with 21st-century digital literacy skills, including robotics, coding, and interactive STEM education techniques.

Endorsed by the Regional Director of Ghana Education Service (GES), Volta Region, this initiative is a major step toward empowering educators with modern instructional strategies that foster hands-on, student-centered learning. By integrating technology into the curriculum, teachers will be better equipped to enhance students’ problem-solving skills, creativity, and engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) subjects.

Impact on Education and Community Development

The significance of this training extends beyond the classroom. As Ghana pushes toward a digitally-driven economy, equipping teachers with ICT proficiency ensures that students in underserved communities gain access to quality education that aligns with global technological advancements. The training will:

  • Enhance Teaching Techniques – Teachers will learn to incorporate coding, robotics, and digital literacy into lesson plans, making learning more interactive and engaging.

  • Improve Student Learning Outcomes – Students will benefit from hands-on, practical applications of STEM concepts, fostering curiosity and critical thinking.

  • Empower the Local Community – As teachers integrate technology into learning, parents and community members will also gain exposure to digital tools, enhancing overall technological awareness.

A STEAM Lab to Revolutionize Classroom Learning

As part of this initiative, Dreamers Wish Foundation and Bountiful Technologies will establish a STEAM Innovation Lab at Dadome Primary School, which will serve as a hub for seven schools in the district. The lab will feature:

  • Over 30 computers

  • A projector and whiteboard for interactive learning

  • A printer and essential classroom resources

  • Specialized STEAM equipment for hands-on student engagement

This facility will provide a sustainable platform for continuous learning and innovation, allowing students and teachers to explore coding, engineering, and problem-solving in a practical environment.

Commitment to Educational Excellence

The ICT training workshop reflects a collective commitment to bridging the digital divide and ensuring that students in rural Ghana have equal opportunities to compete in the global knowledge economy. Supported by the North Tongu District Education Directorate and GES guidelines, the training will also offer Continuous Professional Development (CPD) credits to participating teachers, further strengthening their career growth.

Teachers, students, and the entire North Tongu community stand to reap the long-term benefits of technology-driven education, paving the way for innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic excellence.
